Members of the campaign group were invited to preview visit of the City Baths, by Fusion who manage the City Baths and have been restoring the building and its Grade II listed interior.
Members of the group, along with friends, family and supporters of the campaign saw the gym and were amongst the first to swim in the restored pool, and test out the brand new poolside sauna.
“I am so happy that this beautiful building is open once again” said one of the group members who had been involved in the 7 year campaign to save, and re-open the building as a leisure facility.
The gym, fitness classes, pool and sauna open to the public tomorrow, Monday 27 January, whilst restoration continues on the Turkish Baths which will re-open shortly.
